In partnership with San Joaquin County Behavioral Services, Health Management Associates presented an informative, engaging and practical webinar about supporting pregnant women with behavioral health conditions and motivating women to conquer their tobacco use, all while working on caregiver resilience. Participants learned how to best support mothers and had their questions answered by Dr. Lori Raney and Bren Manaugh. The webinar was hosted on August 5th and 12th.

This webinar addressed the challenges of identifying and effectively managing co-occuring disorders in pregnant and postpartum women. The presenter described the complexity of co-occuring disorders in this population, incorporating the impact of trauma and stigma on behaviors to inform treatment and services that best meet each patient's needs. Strategies for screening and assessment of, and effective engagement with and interventions for, substance use and mental health conditions were shared to support effective management of co-occuring disorders in pregnant and postpartum women.
